HODEIDA June 29. 2024 (Saba) - 23 Fishermen returned on Saturday to the fishing port in Hodeida after more than ten days of kidnapping and torture in Eritrean prisons.

During their reception, in the presence of the port director, Mohammed Al-Taweel, the fishermen explained that Eritrean naval patrols - while practicing fishing activity in Yemeni territorial waters on board three boats type "Djelba" - kidnapped them and took them to their prisons on the second day of Eid al-Adha.

They reported that the Eritrean authorities released them along with a number of fishermen returning to Khokha, after confiscating and looting their property and fishing equipment, inflicting various forms of torture on them, forcing them to perform hard work under starvation and ill-treatment.
