SANA'A June 25. 2024 (Saba) - Minister of Water and Environment in the Caretaker Government Eng. Abdulraqib al-Shurmani on Tuesday reviewed the work progress and disciplinary standards at the Rural Water Projects Authority on the first official workday following Eid al-Adha.
Minister al-Sharmani, accompanied by the authority's director Adel Saleh Badr, was briefed on the operational procedures and performance levels at the authority's main office, branches, and general districts.
He praised the discipline among the authority's staff, emphasizing the need to organize work mechanisms, enhance performance levels, and redouble efforts to meet the rural water projects' needs.
In the meeting, Discussions were focused on the authority's performance across provinces, workplace discipline, and the general status of rural water projects.
The meeting also reviewed rural water projects implemented during the past period, their contribution to meeting citizens' drinking water needs, and alleviating their suffering amidst the current situation due to ongoing American-British aggression.
Participants also examined steps taken by the authority within its strategic plan for the years 1444-1447 AH, identified challenges in rural water project implementation and ways to address them, operational indicators, control systems, institutional management automation, and governance.
Minister al-Shurmani reiterated the commitment to enhancing the Rural Water Projects Authority's performance and prioritizing the implementation of alternative energy projects to support rural water projects and ensure their sustainability.
He underscored the authority's crucial role in providing water services to citizens in rural areas, emphasizing the importance of submitting a comprehensive report on priority projects completed and their implementation status.
