DOHA June 25. 2024 (Saba) - Deputy Chairman of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip and member of the Political Bureau Khalil al-Hayya on Tuesday confirmed the movement’s serious readiness to enter into real and serious negotiations to conclude an exchange deal and end the war and aggression.
Al-Hayya said in an interview with al-Jazeera on Monday that Hamas is ready and serious directly, to enter into real and serious negotiations if the enemy adheres to the principles of President Biden and what he achieves for the will of the people, stopping the Zionist aggression and complete comprehensive withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and going for a serious deal.
He added: "We are still serious, and we hope that the mediators, the Qatari and Egyptian brothers, will succeed with the American administration, if it is serious in forcing the enemy to reach this deal and end this war and aggression against our people."
He pointed out that Netanyahu's statements yesterday and today are a confirmation of what we have always said, that the Zionist enemy government led by Netanyahu does not want to reach a ceasefire and does not want a real prisoner exchange.
Al-Hayya continued, saying: We have been saying for months, and we said to the mediators and we told everyone, that we are ready if we have a clear text and a clear offer for a ceasefire and comprehensive withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and to go to exchange a real deal.
He said: Today, Netanyahu is telling everyone very clearly, “I do not want to stop the war. I want to carry out partial action, a temporary truce to recover a group of Zionist prisoners from the hands of the resistance, and then resume the war.” This is Netanyahu’s true position, and everything else is embellishing the words and repeating them. Words from here and there.
He pointed out that Netanyahu does not want to conclude a deal, and he entertains those he meets from time to time, and every day he announces these empty statements that are nearly nine months old. He did not eliminate the resistance and will not be able to recover the prisoners without a deal with the Palestinian resistance. represented by Hamas, and he will not be able to impose everything he wants.
He pointed out that Netanyahu openly announces ideas and slogans for the continuation of war and aggression, and this is today the responsibility of the mediators, first and foremost America, which is a partner in this war. Today, the statements and credibility of US President Biden are at stake, as is the Security Council resolution that was adopted almost unanimously.
He identified four principles that Hamas adheres to: the first principle: stopping the war, a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire, and comprehensive withdrawal, the second principle: the return of the displaced, the third: relief and reconstruction, and the important goal in these principles is a real prisoner exchange.
Al-Hayya added "these are four clear principles and ideas, and there are details, and I say that we are not far from the many details, in my opinion, as the papers exchanged are close, but the focus of disagreement today is that the Zionist government does not yet agree to the principle of a ceasefire."
He stressed that the Zionist proposal only wants to implement the first stage, and loses the interconnectedness, cohesion, and coherence of the stages with each other. Therefore, if the Zionist enemy has a will and is serious about stopping the aggression.
Hamas leader stressed that this is the focus, test and test for the international community in obligating the enemy to stop the war, stop the comprehensive aggression, and agree to this principle. If the enemy agrees to this principle, we will go directly to a real prisoner exchange, even if the enemy also sets some provisions that may subject to negotiation, the enemy tries to pass the time and cast doubt on this path completely.
