HAJJAH June 22. 2024 (Saba) - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation - Deputy Head of the Supreme Agricultural and Fisheries Committee, Dr. Radwan Al-Rubai, laid the foundation stone for the dam project of the martyr leader, Sayyed Hussein Badr Al-Din Al-Houthi, and the martyr, Major General Taha Al-Madani, in Khairan Al-Muharraq District in Hajjah, with a community initiative.
The Supreme Agricultural and Fisheries Committee, the local authority in the province, and the community in the district are contributing to the construction of the two dams, which cost 300 million riyals.
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Hajjah Province, Chairman of the Agricultural Committee in the Province, Ibrahim Amer, and the Undersecretary for Tihama District Affairs, Abdul Karim Al-Khamousi, listened to clarification from the Executive Director of the project, Engineer Assem Dhafer, about the technical and engineering designs of the two dams with a storage capacity of one million five hundred thousand cubic meters of water, indicating that the two dams will they contribute to irrigating lands in Aslam and Khairan districts.
Al-Rubai appreciated the role of the local authority in motivating the community, providing all facilities, and overcoming any difficulties in implementing any service projects that meet the needs of citizens.
He called on society people to intensify their resolve to fight the fateful battle in the economic arena and how to achieve victory and economic power through which they can confront enemies at this stage, and also through building society and achieving the resistant economy.
Meanwhile, Director of the Directorate, Ahmed Al-Bakili, appreciated the great interest in the province’s conditions and the implementation of service projects in various fields, most notably irrigation initiatives, as Hajjah is one of the Province that was deprived of these projects over the previous years.
In turn, the Director of the Agriculture and Irrigation Office in the province, Engineer Hassan Hazazi, confirmed that the community’s contribution and initiative in constructing the two dams is a model that should be emulated in the rest of the directorates.
