SANA'A June 14. 2024 (Saba) - The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning reported its weather forecast during the Eid al-Adha holiday from June 15-24.
In a weather bulletin received by Saba, the center expected an awakening to partly cloudy and relatively hot atmosphere, with chances of scattered rain, sometimes heavy in the southwestern and central highlands of the country, and temperatures range between 27-35 degrees Celsius.
As for the interior plateaus, the weather may be hot with the formation of scattered cells of cumulus clouds and the possibility of light rain, and temperatures range between 34 and 38 degrees.
It is expected that the weather in the desert areas will be very hot and dry in general and temperatures between 40 and 45, while the weather may be hot to very hot with high humidity and scattered rain on the Tihama plain and parts of the eastern coasts and strong winds on the Socotra archipelago that work on high waves and sea turbulence.
According to the center, temperatures in the western coasts and the Tihama plain may range between 38-44 degrees, while in the southern and eastern coasts and the Socotra archipelago they will be between 35-40 degrees.
Regarding the state of the sea, moderate waves will be turbulent at times on Bab al-Mandab and wind speed between 10-22 knots, while it will be moderate to turbulent waves in the southern and eastern coasts and the Gulf of Aden, and wind speed between 12-25 knots, while the Socotra archipelago is witnessing turbulent waves and wind speed between 25-35 knots.
The center advised citizens to stay away from torrential streams and valley stomachs in areas where rain is expected and to be careful while driving vehicles.
He called for not being exposed to direct sunlight during the afternoon, especially in desert and coastal areas, and to drink plenty of fluids and refreshments in hot areas.
He also called on sea-goers and fishermen to take care of the high waves and sea turbulence around the Socotra archipelago.
He urged the center to follow the daily bulletins to know the latest updates and updates on the weather.
