BEIRUT June 10. 2024 (Saba) - Hezbollah, the Islamic resistance in Lebanon, on Monday declared the successful interception of a Zionist military drone over the skies of southern Lebanon, marking the third such incident during the ongoing conflict.
In an official statement, the Lebanese resistance disclosed that their vigilant monitoring of enemy activity in Lebanese airspace enabled them to intercept a Hormuz 900 drone, armed with missiles intended for attacks on Lebanese territories.
The statement detailed how Hezbollah fighters, upon detecting the drone's approach, swiftly engaged it with air defense systems, neutralizing the threat before it could carry out its intended assault.
This decisive action, according to the statement, was taken in solidarity with the resilient Palestinian people in Gaza and in support of their courageous resistance against oppression.
Shortly after the interception, a spokesperson for the Zionist enemy's military confirmed the incident, acknowledging that a Zionist drone was targeted and downed by a surface-to-air missile while flying over Lebanese territory.
Footage captured by civilian cameras captured the dramatic moment when the drone plummeted to the ground in Rayhan area of Tafleh region, near Jezzine in southern Lebanon, after being struck by an air defense missile.
With this latest interception of the Hormuz 900 drone by Hezbollah, the tally of successfully thwarted Zionist drones during the conflict rises to three of the same type, following previous interceptions in Deir Mimas and Deir Kiva. Additionally, two Hormuz-450 drones and two Skylark drones have been downed in the border region.
