TAIZ June 08. 2024 (Saba) - The Central Bank of Yemen launched today,Saturday, the process of replacing legal currency with its equivalent illegal currency at the exchange center in Al-Rahida Customs in Taiz province.
The inauguration of the currency exchange at Al-Rahida Customs Center comes in implementation of the Central Bank decision in Sana'a to confront the American decision implemented by Saudi Arabia and the mercenaries of aggression to withdraw the legal currency from the market at less than a quarter of its value, as the bank affiliated with the mercenaries in Aden claims.
During the inauguration in the presence of the directors of the Central Bank branch in Taiz Province, Abdul Bari Al-Hanani, and Al-Rahida Customs Majid Al-Taifi, the director of the bank branch in Ibb Himyar Sharaf explained that the establishment of these centers by the Central Bank aims to replace the legal currency with its equivalent illegal currency according to the prevailing exchange rate, where it is Replacement of the "1000" riyal note of legal currency with 3,350 riyals of illegal currency.
He stressed that this step comes within the framework of the Central Bank of Sana'a's concern for the rights of citizens whose legal currency savings the mercenaries seek to plunder.
