MOSCOW May 29. 2024 (Saba) - The Russian Defense Ministry on Wednesday said its artillery forces destroyed fortified areas camouflaged by the Ukrainian army on the Donetsk axis.
"During reconnaissance activities in one of the sectors of the combat line of contact, military personnel from the reconnaissance unit discovered camouflaged fortified areas and a gathering of members of the Ukrainian armed forces," the Russian news agency TASS quoted the ministry as saying in a statement.
"Objective video monitoring data confirmed the destruction of fortified areas and the elimination of Ukrainian army militants there," the Russian ministry added, noting that this mission was carried out by the crews of D-30 howitzers belonging to the First Army Corps in the Russian "South" forces group.
On Tuesday, the Russian defense ministry said about 1,760 Ukrainian soldiers were neutralized and inflicted heavy losses in ordnance on various axes of fighting during the last 24 hours.
