NEW YORK May 28. 2024 (Saba) - The United Nations Security Council is convening an emergency meeting Tuesday to discuss the situation in Rafah following the massacre perpetrated by Zionist forces.
According to diplomatic sources cited by Agence France-Presse, the closed-door meeting was requested by Algeria.
It is worth noting that 45 Palestinian civilians were martyred and dozens injured in a recent massacre committed by Zionist forces the day before yesterday, after their bombardment of a displaced persons camp northwest of Rafah.
The camp is located within areas previously designated by Zionist forces as safe, urging displaced persons to seek refuge there. However, no statements or warnings were issued to the displaced persons and residents of the area to evacuate.
This massacre comes just two days after the International Court of Justice, the highest judicial body of the United Nations, issued orders for "Israel," the occupying power, to immediately halt its military operations in Rafah province and to ensure the opening of the Rafah crossing to enable the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
