SANA'A May 09. 2024 (Saba) - Yemen celebrated the International Day of Midwives under the slogan "Midwives: A Vital Climate Solution" with a rhetorical effectiveness organized today,Thursday, by the National Association for Yemeni Midwors in coordination with Al -Razi University.
In the event, the President of the National Association for Midwors,Sabah Al Dhafari, confirmed that the climate change imposes unprecedented challenges on health, especially for women and children.
She pointed out that about three million women and girls in the age of childbirth in Yemen need care services, noting that the Yemeni midwives have faced them since the aggression against Yemen in 2015 AD major challenges and risk their lives to save pregnant women.
For its part, a member of the Executive official of the International Federation of Midwors- the President of the Group of Midwors for the Mediterranean Region, Dr. Farida Shah, expressed the pride of the International Federation and its member associations in various countries of the world to revive this occasion to introduce the vital , important role of midwives in providing primary , comprehensive health care for mothers and children during pregnancy After birth.
She pointed to the importance of ensuring the continuity of caring for midwives as an essential part of health systems, especially in remote areas, stressing that the International Midwors Federation seeks, in partnership with the association, to enhance health care provided by midwives based on scientific evidence.
In the event, which was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al -Razi University, Dr. Tariq Al -Nahmi, the President of the University, Dr. Khalil Al -Wajih, pointed out the importance of celebrating the International Day of Camels to highlight this profession and the challenges facing Yemeni midwives.
In the event, expressive words, poems and paragraphs were given, as well as a review of success stories for a number of midwives, as well as clarifying the importance of the role of the midwife in providing advice , health care to the mother and child.
In the event, which was attended by the Director of Associations and Federations at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Hamid Moawadah, a group of midwives was honored in appreciation of their role in caring for the mother and child.
