SANA'A May 08. 2024 (Saba) - An expanded meeting on Wednesday at the Ministry of Transport that included the Ministers of Transport of the caretaker government, Abdul Wahab Al-Durra, and the Minister of Transport and Hajj and Umrah Affairs, Najib Al-Aji, discussed the mechanism of sending the pilgrims by air through Sana'a International Airport to the Holy Land to perform the rituals of Hajj and Umrah for the year 1445 AH.
The meeting, in the presence of Deputy Minister of Guidance and Hajj and Umrah Affairs Fouad Naji, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport for the Air Transport Sector Abdullah Al-Ansi, and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Guidance for the Hajj and Umrah Sector Abdulrahman Al-Naami, reviewed the arrangements for transporting pilgrims by air through the national carrier Yemen Airways from Sana'a Airport to Jeddah and Madinah airports in a timely manner.
The meeting touched on the schedules of the actual flights that were disembarked to send pilgrims to Jeddah and Medina in light of the permits granted by the concerned authorities. He called for granting Yemen Airways an increase in the number of flights, which contributes to the ease of pilgrims.
The meeting, which was attended by the President of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Qader, the Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yemen Airways Khalil Jahaf, the Undersecretary of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority, Raed Jabal, and representatives of travel agencies, stressed the need to give priority to booking from Sana'a Airport for agencies that uploaded all their pilgrims' data to the sector's electronic portal platform.
It pointed out that a mobile application will be downloaded to provide awareness services and guidance to pilgrims, and awareness workshops will be held for guides and supervisors.
He stated that the number of Yemeni pilgrims who will be evacuated from Sanaa airport is more than six thousand distributed over 40 to 50 flights. Stressing the need for travel agencies to raise the data of pilgrims and adhere to what has been agreed upon for the success of the voyage process and avoid any problems.
Minister Al-Durra pointed out that ticket prices for pilgrims will be the same as last year's prices, as well as the rest of the procedures.
