SANA'A May 04. 2024 (Saba) - At its meeting today, Saturday, headed by the Caretaker Minister of Public Works and Roads, Ghaleb Mutlaq, the Committee for Modernizing and Developing the Executive Regulations of the Construction Law discussed aspects related to completing the regulations and implementing the Construction Law with all its requirements.
The meeting, which included the Deputy Minister of Works, Engineer Muhammad Al-Dhari, and members of the committee, which includes representatives from the Land Authority, the Capital Secretariat, and Sana’a province, touched on topics related to cooperation between the Ministry of Works and the local authority in monitoring the performance of the works offices in accordance with what was agreed upon.
The meeting stressed the necessity of lowering the requirements for building in neighborhood units, and activating the Supreme Planning Council as stated in the Planning Law.
It stressed the importance of the Ministry of Works unifying building permits related to residential buildings so that they include all required requirements, in addition to training those in charge of the Works Offices in intensive and specialized courses on the Building Law and its executive regulations.
The need to educate citizens through the media about the importance of registering their lands in the real estate registry, in order to take them into consideration and fulfill the legal requirements, was emphasized.
At the meeting, Minister Mutlaq affirmed the Ministry’s keenness to improve and develop the performance of the works offices and automate all their work.
He urged the committee to continue its work to accomplish the tasks entrusted to it by completing the executive regulations of the building law, given its importance in organizing work in this aspect, especially in light of the current urban expansion.
