NEW YORK April 30. 2024 (Saba) - The University of San Francisco joins the ongoing protests in universities across the United States in solidarity with the Palestinian people, demanding an end to the Zionist war on the Gaza Strip.
Students erected approximately 20 tents within the university campus to launch the "Gaza Solidarity Camp," in a move similar to what happened at Columbia University, where the protests began.
Protesting students chanted "Freedom for Palestine," while distributing leaflets calling on the university administration to avoid summoning security forces to disperse the protests.
They also urged the university administration to refrain from punishing students with academic penalties and to respect their right to protest on campus.
Among their other demands is the cancellation of the university's commercial agreements with companies manufacturing military supplies for the Zionist entity, such as Lockheed Martin and HP.
These developments at the University of San Francisco come alongside similar protests at more than 70 universities across the United States, amidst the arrests of hundreds of protesting students by police forces.
