SANA'A April 29. 2024 (Saba) - The Secretary-General of the Local Council in Sana'a province, Abdul Qadir Al-Jilani, was briefed today, Monday, on the progress of work in a number of pharmaceutical and food factories in the industrial zone of the province.
During the visit, which included the factories of Saba Pharma, the International Pharmaceutical Company, and the Modern Pharmaceutical Company, the Secretary-General, accompanied by the Governor’s Undersecretary for the Investment Sector, Yahya Jamaan, listened to an explanation about the progress of the production process , plans for development and expansion in those factories.
Al-Jilani stressed that the local authority is keen to provide all aspects of support and assistance to local industries and provide all means of success for them, enabling them to continue to play their role in strengthening the national economy.
He pointed out the importance of moving towards an industry based on local raw materials and benefiting from the great plant diversity in Yemen, which provides suitable quantities of them, whether plants, herbs or grains of all kinds.
Al-Jilani directed the technical sector and the province’s works office to quickly fill , level the road leading to the industrial zone, and to include it among the asphalt projects in the plan for the coming years.
While the governor’s agent, Jamaan, explained that the field visits to the factories come within the framework of a work program for the leadership of the local authority in the province, with the aim of coordinating efforts with the private sector to encourage investments in local industries and enhance their role to meet the needs of the local market for medicine and food.
He stressed the province's leadership's keenness to overcome all difficulties facing factory owners, and to assist them with everything possible.
Al-Jilani and Jamaan explained that the visit comes within the framework of monitoring and evaluating the performance of factories, reviewing the quality standards and level of efficiency in implementing the required health standards, and contributing to overcoming obstacles to ensure stimulating investment and supporting the national economy.
He noted the keenness of the province leadership and the local authority to follow up on the work of factories within the province , coordinate efforts to activate investment and address any difficulties they face.
They directed the Office of Industry and Trade to activate the supervisory role over industrial establishments , oblige factories and companies to fulfill all health and security requirements to ensure the preservation of the level , type of product, and to take legal measures against violators.
