WASHINGTON April 26. 2024 (Saba) -The US Treasury Department vowed to impose sanctions on Chinese banks over allegedly facilitating the export of military products to Russia.

President Joe Biden inked an executive order giving the US Treasury Department authority to sanction foreign banks, in China or elsewhere, the American treasury secretary told Reuters, citing trade with Russia.

The policy option is something the administration would be prepared to use if necessary, Janet Yellen added.

On Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal said the US takes aim at Chinese banks to force Beijing end trading relations with Moscow.
