GAZA April 26. 2024 (Saba) - Handicap International confirmed that there is no safe haven in the Gaza Strip, noting that the city of Khan Younis is uninhabitable and warning of a possible threat of a ground offensive on Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.
In its report released on Friday, the organization noted that thousands of families who may be forced to flee from Rafah to Khan Younis and other areas have been affected, expressing grave concern for their safety and the difficulty of accessing basic services.
The report confirmed that the city of Khan Younis has suffered enormous damage from the fighting, warning that displacement may expose residents to increased risks due to the difficulty of accessing services and the risk of possible collapse of damaged buildings.
Based on its observations on the ground, the organization stressed the need to stop the use of heavy weapons in populated areas, while stressing the importance of protecting civilians and facilitating humanitarian access.
The report stressed that finding durable and safe solutions for the displaced in these areas requires immediate intervention and joint efforts, while stressing the importance of stopping the fighting and facilitating the delivery of aid to alleviate the humanitarian suffering in the Gaza Strip.
