NIAMEY April 24. 2024 (Saba) - Niger is determined to get US troops out of the country, Niger's former diplomat said on Wednesday, noting that Washington had wanted to negotiate on the presence of an airbase, but the Nigerian government refused.

Niger is open to relations with Russia, China, Iran and any country that respects its sovereignty, Ali Tasie added in remarks to Mayadeen, as Niamey is developing relations with Moscow.

Niger is concerned to strengthen its army to fight terrorism, he said.
