"It wasn't an attack, it was child's play." Amir Abdollahian mocks terrorist attack in Isfahan
"It wasn't an attack, it was child's play." Amir Abdollahian mocks terrorist attack in Isfahan

NEW YORK April 20. 2024 (Saba) - Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that what happened at dawn Friday in Iran "was not an attack" but children's toys, noting that Tehran is still investigating the affiliation of the marches that fell near Isfahan.

During an interview with NBC in New York today, Amir Abdollahian quipped, "Flying three small quadcopter drones was like children's toys."

He also stressed that "Iran's defense systems are smart, as they succeeded in targeting and shooting down drones in Isfahan as soon as they appear in the air," stressing that the Iranian armed forces are "one hundred percent ready."

Amir-Abdollahian added that his country "does not intend to make any new reaction, if there is no new adventure on the part of Israel against its interests."

"If Israel takes any decisive step against Iran, and proves it, the response will be immediate and as strong as possible, and will make them regret it," he warned.

Regarding the latest developments in the negotiations for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the Iranian minister explained that "Hamas put forward very logical ideas," stressing that "the main reason for not reaching a result is the excessive demands, and the occupation view of the Zionist entity to areas of the Strip."

Yesterday, a video circulated on social media showing a reporter for Voice of America asking Iran's foreign minister about his comment on the rally attack on Isfahan and whether Iran would respond.

As seen in the video, Amir Abdollahian refrained from answering, with signs of ridicule on his face, while a member of his entourage commented sarcastically: "What blow?"
