MOSCOW April 19, 2024 (Saba) - A Russian Tu-22MS bomber crashed in the Stavropol region; Today, Friday, one of its crew members was killed, two pilots survived, and a fourth crew member was lost.
The Russian "TASS" news agency quoted the governor of the Russian Stavropol region, Vladimir Vladimirov, as saying: One of the crew members of the plane that crashed in the Russian Stavropol region was killed, while the search for the fourth pilot is still ongoing.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that a TU-22M3 bomber belonging to the Air Force crashed after completing a combat mission while returning to the airport in Stavropol region. There was no ammunition on board and no damage occurred on the ground.
According to preliminary data, the cause of the accident was a technical malfunction.
