Dhale March 18. 2024 (Saba) - The Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit is implementing 133 community initiatives in the fields of roads, education, water, sanitation and agriculture in Al-Dhale Governorate, at a total cost of five billion, 65 million and 669 thousand riyals for the first, second and third phases.

The representative of the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit, Engineer Essam Abu Lahoum, told Saba that 37 community initiatives have been completed in the governorate, while 44 initiatives are currently being implemented and 52 initiatives will be implemented during the coming period.

He pointed out that the total completion rate of all initiatives during the first, second and third phases in the field of roads (completed - under implementation) amounted to 72.5 percent, of which initiatives were 100 percent completed, initiatives ranging from 30 to 90 percent, and initiatives by 20 percent.

In the field of education, 60 percent of the initiatives have been completed, 100 percent in the field of water and sanitation, 82.6 percent in agriculture, and initiatives ranging from 30 to 90 percent.

Abu Lahoum pointed out that the completed and ongoing initiatives were distributed among the Damt district, with 26 initiatives in roads, three in agriculture, the same in education and four initiatives in the field of sanitation.

He pointed out that 13 initiatives were implemented in the Juban district, two in agriculture and three in education, while in the district of Al-Hasha 15 initiatives were implemented in the roads, one initiative in the field of agriculture and two initiatives in the field of education, while nine initiatives were implemented in the district of Qataba in the field of roads.

He explained that the implementation and support of community initiatives comes within the framework of the directives of the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed. Abdul Malik Badr Al-Din Al-Houthi, and a translation of the directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council, which is to pay attention to the implementation of interventions in Al-Dhale Governorate and support them with cement and diesel under the supervision and follow-up of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Finance, Dr. Rashid Abu Lahoum.

"The initiatives embody community cohesion through their prominent role in strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between official authorities and society in implementing projects that serve citizens, which would not have been achieved without the steadfastness and concerted efforts of all members of society," he said.

Abu Lahoum stressed that the implementation of community initiatives is being followed up and plans and studies are being developed for priority projects in the districts that are being targeted. He pointed out that the increase in the number of initiatives from year to year reflects the growing community awareness of the importance of participating in the process of construction and development to achieve the public interest.

He stated that a field visit is carried out to evaluate and follow up the implementation and ensure the achievement and level of interaction as well as quality in work to ensure the sustainability of projects, in order to know the priority of the Directorate of the projects of the next phase and the size of the need determined by the unit through the field assessment of the level of completion of the previous phase.

He touched on the fact that supporting and motivating the community to launch initiatives contributes to improving the service situation and infrastructure in the governorate to meet the basic needs of citizens. He pointed to the need for concerted efforts of all to improve the reality of services in the province.

He praised the growing community awareness among the people of the governorate and their sense of responsibility in supporting the state's efforts in the process of construction and development and strengthening the factors of resilience.

Engineer Essam Abu Luhum praised the support and cooperation of the leadership of the local authority in the governorate, the security and military leadership and the targeted directorates, and working in a team spirit to serve the community, which had a great impact on the success of the projects. He pointed out that the local authority in the governorate contributed an amount of 234 million riyals to support community initiatives in the governorate.
