The Capital Mayor , Dr. Hammoud Abbad, inspected today,Sunday, the progress of implementation of a number of service projects in Maeen districts , Al-Safiya, and Old Sana’a as part of the local authority’s projects for the current year.
The Mayor along with the Undersecretary for the Works and Projects Sector, Engineer Abdul Karim Al-Houthi, reviewed the implementation of the rainwater drainage canal project east of Sana’a University, with a length of 400 meters, worth $46,000, which is being implemented by the Public Works Project.
They heard from the director of the municipality area and Sana’a and Al-Mahwit provinces, Engineer Munir Thabet, an explanation about the project for the first and second phases by establishing the drainage canal extending from the southern wall of the university to the northern wall, and its importance in connecting to the Sawad Hanash liquid canal to drain torrents and rainwater.
Abbad and Al-Houthi inspected the progress of work in the project to restore and pave the Mother Hospital Street in Al-Safiya District, and the completion rate is 75 percent, funded by the secretariat and implemented by the Executive Unit to establish, maintain , develop roads and public places in the secretariat.
They also reviewed the implementation of a project to create a model that embodies the symbolism of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Al-Quds tour with an altar bridge, funded and supervised by the Cleaning and Improvement Fund, a project to rehabilitate and restore Bab al-Yemen monument in old Sana’a, funded by the secretariat.
