NEW YORK February 22. 2024 (Saba) - The Chinese permanent representative to the UN on Thursday deplored the US use of veto against a Security Council's resolution calling for humanitarian, immediate ceasefire in Gaza Strip.
It is the responsibility of the UNSC to take steps to cease fire in Gaza, Kang John added in a statement.
Beijing is disappointed at Washington's use of veto against resolutions calling for ceasefire in Gaza, he said.
The US veto cannot silence strong call for ceasefire and for an end to war in Gaza, and the UNSC cannot renege its responsibility to administer justice due to veto, the Chinese diplomat added.
