WASHINGTON December 15. 2023 (Saba) - A U.S. military official has revealed that U.S. and coalition forces have been subjected to at least 97 attacks in Iraq and Syria since Oct. 17 until Wednesday.
The US official confirmed in a statement to al-Mayadeen that the attacks that targeted the bases of the US presence in the two countries were using drones, missiles and short-range ballistic missiles.
He explained that the attacks came at 45 attacks in Iraq, in addition to 52 attacks in Syria.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq claimed that its Mujahideens/ fighters targeted the US occupation base in al-Shadadi, southern the Syrian city of Hasakah.
The Islamic Resistance announced in a statement published on Thursday that "the targeting of the US occupation base in al-Shadadi comes in response to the crimes of the enemy in the Gaza Strip." It revealed that the targeting was carried out by drones, and that the base was hit directly.
