Merom told the Zionist Channel 12: “The Red Sea square is not our square, but important maritime transport for Israel passes through it, and it completely needs this corridor.”
He pointed out that 95 percent of the goods entering and leaving Israel pass through the sea, and that a large portion of them comes from the East, from China and similar countries, including raw materials and final manufactured materials, and passes through the Suez Canal to reach the ports of Haifa and Ashdod, and in Under the Yemeni siege, ships do not cross Bab al-Mandab.
In a related context, reserve Lieutenant Colonel Avi Kalo told Channel 12: “There is an important force affiliated with the US Central Command (CENTCOM) that is confronting Ansar Allah, but at the regional level, “the Americans are facing difficulty in forming an international and regional coalition in this regard.” .
This comes as the Yemeni Armed Forces confirm that they will continue to “prevent ships of all nationalities heading to Israeli ports from navigating in the Arabian Sea and the Red Sea, until the siege on Gaza is lifted and the food and medicine its people need.”
