TEHRAN November 12. 2023 (Saba)-Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani confirmed today, Sunday, that the decisions in the draft final statement of the Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh “were strong and decisive,” but “with some reservations.”
Kanaani said, in a statement today: “Iran has reservations on several points, especially with regard to the two-state solution, the 1967 borders, and the Arab Peace Initiative.”
He added: Iran also “reserves what was stated in the statement that the Palestine Liberation Organization is the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people.”
He stressed that Iran considers "all the Palestinians, with their various factions, including the PLO, to be the representatives of the Palestinians and have the right to struggle against the occupier to determine their fate."
The Iranian spokesman pointed out that "the Iranian representation in Jeddah has conveyed these reservations to the OPEC secretariat, and they will be referred to in the final report of the summit."
