SANA'A September 23. 2023 (Saba)-His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Head of the Supreme Political Council, today unveiled the opening of ten health projects at Al-Jumhuri Teaching Hospital in the capital, Sana’a.
The opening and inauguration of work on health projects worth four billion and 27 million riyals comes on the occasion of the celebrations of the ninth anniversary of the September 21 Revolution and the anniversary of the honorable birth of the Prophet may the best prayers and peace be upon its owner and his family.
Where the President, accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs - Minister of Finance, Dr. Rashid Abu Lahoum, the Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakel, the Mayor of the Capital, Hammoud Abbad, and the Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Mutahar Al-Marouni, inaugurated the Motherhood and Childhood Center, worth one billion and 210 million riyals, funded by the Social Fund, Development, and a magnetic resonance unit worth 825 million riyals, funded by the World Health Organization.
President Al-Mashat and his companions inaugurated the rehabilitation and restoration project of the Authority worth 935 million riyals, funded by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNEPS), the first and second phase of the major operations rehabilitation project worth 390 million riyals, funded by the Iranian Embassy, the Ministry of Health, and the Al-Jumhuri Hospital Authority.
He also inaugurated the new public emergency center worth 210 million riyals, funded by the local authority in the capital secretariat and the hospital authority, and the first phase of equipping the center for liver transplantation and gastrointestinal diseases, worth 200 million riyals, funded by the authority and the capital secretariat, as well as the equipment for the general emergency center in the amount of 200 million riyals, funded by Health Ministry , Authority and World Health Organization.
The projects that were opened at the Authority included the medical automated, financial and administrative system at a value of 25 million riyals, the rehabilitation ,restoration of the seventh private floor at a value of 20 million riyals, and the rehabilitation of the new corridor for clinical departments at a value of 12 million riyals, with self-financing from the Authority.
The President was briefed on the level of medical equipment in the operations department, which includes 24 rooms, after the rehabilitation of major operations, the first and second stages, and the modern equipment and supplies it contains. He listened to an explanation from the Minister of Health and Head of the Hospital Authority, Dr. Muhammad Jahaf, about the operations taking place in number of operations is 50 daily.
During his visit to a number of hospital departments and his tour of the general emergency, President Al-Mashat heard from a number of patients about their suffering and health condition, directing the hospital leadership to improve the medical and therapeutic services provided to patients, in a way that alleviates their suffering.
The opening was attended by the head of the General Authority for Zakat, Shamsan Abu Nashtan, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Kamal Khaled, and a number of officials from the Ministry of Health and the Al-Jumhuri Teaching Hospital Authority.
