Damascus September. 08. 2023 (Saba) - On Friday, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered that the entry of an American delegation into northeastern Syria and its meetings with separatist organizations represents a flagrant violation of Syria’s sovereignty.
The Syrian News Agency (SANA) quoted the ministry as saying: “The recent illegal entry of an American delegation headed by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Ethan Goldrich into northeastern Syria and its meetings with separatist organizations represents a flagrant violation of Syria’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, and the principles of international law.” and relevant Security Council resolutions.
She added: The claim that this visit and the meetings that took place aimed to address the grievances of the residents of Deir ez-Zor and the dangers of interference from outside in Deir ez-Zor is a blatant lie that is added to the hypocritical approach promoted by the American administration, which steals the wealth and capabilities of the Syrian people and imposes unilateral coercive measures that are illegal and unjust. Inhumane and immoral, which contributes to the killing of Syrians without mercy.
