MOSCOW Sep. 08. 2023 (Saba) - The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that the crew of the military ship "Stoiki" conducted training exercises in the Baltic Sea to repel an attack that might be carried out by the enemy using drones.
The Russia Today website quoted the ministry's press service as saying in a statement, "The crew of the military ship Stoiki in the Baltic Sea recently conducted training to repel an attack carried out by a virtual enemy using drones."
The statement added “During the exercises, units from the Baltic Sea Fleet launched drones to represent virtual enemy aircraft and radar system operators and radio engineering units were able to discover these targets, and they were successfully dealt with using the missile and artillery systems present on the Stoiki military ship.”
The statement indicated that the crew of the "Stoiki" ship carried out firing operations at air targets from the ship's A-190 and AK-630M artillery and machine gun platforms and also conducted training to deal with submarines hostile to a hypothetical enemy, and training to deal with electronic warfare weapons.
