OCCUPIED AL-QUDS September 07. 2023 (Saba) - Palestinian Prisoners' Club announced that three detainees in the prisons of the Zionist enemy are continuing their open hunger strike: Sultan Khalouf, Kayed Al-Fasfus, and Maher Al-Akhras.
The Palestinian Shehab News Agency quoted the club in a statement today, Thursday, as saying: The detainee, Sultan Khallouf (42 years old), from the town of Burqin, west of Jenin, has been on a hunger strike for 36 days in rejection of his administrative detention. He is facing a continuous deterioration in his health condition, as he is being held in a cell. “At Ramla Prison Clinic.”
The statement pointed out that the health condition of the detainee, Khalouf, is difficult, as he suffers from vomiting, which has reached the point of vomiting blood, vision impairment, severe headaches, dizziness and difficulty standing, and he moves around with a wheelchair.
In its statement, the Captive Club confirmed that great fears are increasing over his fate, as the prison administration of the Zionist enemy is exerting great pressures against him, including eating food in front of him, and trying to deliver messages to him that he is alone, and that his people will not stand with him.
The club held the Zionist enemy fully responsible for the fate of the detainee Khalouf and all the strikers and their lives.
It is noteworthy that the detainee, Engineer Sultan Khalouf, embarked on a strike from the moment of his arrest on 3/8/2023, and an administrative detention order was issued against him for a period of four months, knowing that he is a former prisoner who spent years in enemy prisons, and he had gone on a hunger strike in 2019, which lasted for a period of time. (67) days, to refuse his administrative detention.
The club reported that the prisoner, Kayed Al-Fasfous, from Dora in Hebron (34 years), has been on strike for 36 days, and has been detained since the second of last May. He is a former prisoner who spent about seven years in enemy prisons, and went on a hunger strike at the end of May and the beginning of last June for nine days. Knowing that he is married and has a daughter.
He added: Al-Fasfus also went on strike in 2021 against his administrative detention, which lasted for 131 days in 2019, and he is being held in the cells of the Negev.
As for the prisoner Maher al-Akhras (52 years), the club stated in its statement that he is from the town of Silat al-Dhahr in Jenin and has been on hunger strike for 16 days. He is a former prisoner who spent five years in enemy prisons, the last of which was in 2020, during which he embarked on an open hunger strike. They refused his administrative detention, which lasted for 103 days. He is married and the father of six children, noting that he is being held in the cells of "Al-Jalama" detention center.
