WASHINGTON Aug. 13. 2023 (Saba) - At least four people were killed and three others injured in a house explosion in Bloom, a suburb of Pittsburgh, in the US state of Pennsylvania.

Allegheny County officials confirmed on social media that four people were killed, and three others were hospitalized, two in stable condition and one in critical condition.

County officials said the eighth person remains "unaccounted."

US media reported that during the work to extinguish the fire, more than 20 healthy firefighters were assessed as having heat exhaustion.

One of the residents, whose homes were damaged, said, "It's like a bomb exploded," and said: "Unfortunately, the scene looks like a war zone."

CBS news reported that the authorities in the province had opened an investigation to find out the circumstances of the accident.
