ASTANA June 10. 2023 (Saba) - Kazakh authorities announced that 14 people were killed on Saturday in fires that consumed 60 thousand hectares of forest in north-east Astana.

The AFP quoted Kazakhstan's Ministry of Emergency Cases as saying that 14 bodies had been found, and that searches were continuing for guards trapped in the middle of the forest.

The situation under control and fire did not threaten homes despite the evacuation of 316 persons.

It confirmed difficulties due to high temperature and wind gusts in almost all directions.
