SANA'A Jun 01. 2023 (Saba) - The head of Al-Thawra General Hospital in Al-Hodeida province, Dr. Khaled Suhail, discussed with UNICEF team the organization's interventions in the field of supporting child care in the hospital.

In the meeting, in the presence of the vice-presidents of the authority, the head of the authority discussed the burdens facing the hospital in light of the exceptional circumstances the country is going through, and the growing need to enable the departments concerned with children to continue to keep pace with the provision of services to patients.

He appreciated the efforts made by UNICEF in order to secure medical services for children, pointing out that thousands of sick children coming for treatment from the province directorates and neighboring provinces live below the poverty line and cannot obtain treatment services, reviewing the authority’s role in providing medical assistance to these children according to its capabilities. available.

For its part, the UNICEF delegation, headed by the Director of Health Program in Yemen, Dr. Saadia Farouk, affirmed the organization's keenness and interest in following up areas of support in targeted health interventions in hospitals in Yemen.

The delegation expressed satisfaction with the team's attention and care in the pediatric departments of Al-Thawra General Hospital in Hodeida, stressing that the organization will work to strengthen the areas of coordination and cooperation with the hospital to ensure the provision of medical services in the supported areas.

They were briefed on the services of the Children's Emergency Center, the Incubators Department, and the Pediatric Intensive Care Department, and listened to an explanation from the heads of departments about the overall services and efforts exerted to care for and treat children and emergency needs.
