YPC: All fuel vessels seized since armistice announcement
[02/August/2022]

SANA'A, Aug.02 (Saba) - The Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC) confirmed that all fuel vessels have been subjected to piracy and detention by the US-Saudi aggression coalition, since armistice announcement.

In a statement to SABA, YPC stated that the detention of vessels for varying periods of time, a total of more than 261 days, despite their inspection and obtaining entry permits issued by the United Nations Verification and Inspection Mechanism (UNVIM), caused several stifling supply crises in diesel in particular, during the months of June and July.

The statement indicated that the company was keen to inform the public opinion of the facts of matters and to clarify the reality of fuel vessels hips' movement and the most direct consequences of the non-compliance of the aggression coalition with the armistice agreement.

The statement stated that the delay fines as a result of the detention of fuel vessels amounted to about 6.3 million dollars, in addition to the 111 days of delays in Djibouti awaiting their entry to the port for inspection.

The statement confirmed that only 29 fuel vessels out of 36 ships reached Hodeida port during the 2 armistice periods, at a rate not exceeding 80%.

The company pointed out in a statement that 2 petrol vessels "Uhud, Hari Prakash" are still under arrest until now.
