SANA'A, July 07 (Saba) - The Head of the National Military Committee, Major General Yahya Al-Razzami, expressed his regret for the failure of the other party to adhere to and attend negotiations and discussions of violations of the UN armistice monitoring the ceasefire and the opening of roads, in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan under the auspices of the United Nations.
At a press conference held Thursday at Sana'a International Airport upon his and members of the Committee's return from Jordan today, General al-Razzami said: "We made a lot of proposals during the previous round, and regrettably we were surprised that the other party did not attend, despite our agreement to do so and their justification for not being invited by the United Nations, we blame the United Nations for the other party's lack of commitment to attend."
He added, "We raised to the leadership in Sana'a the procrastination and the inaction of the other party and their failure to attend, and the United Nations is aware of this and did not play its role or issue a clear position in the initiative that we presented during the first round in opening three roads as a first stage."
"We have been informed by the leadership in Sana 'a that it is best to open appropriate roads in phases without the need or waiting for any consent from the other party or even the care of the United Nations because we are keen that this step is within the framework of an understanding between all parties under the auspices of the UN to facilitate the opening of roads and address some of the imbalances that may occur, but we will do this plan by us."
The Chairman of the National Military Committee held the other party responsible for any irregular conduct, military action, aggression, harassment, prohibition, or blackmail of citizens, or for exploiting obstruction of roads for cases or political blackmail unrelated to the humanitarian aspect.
He emphasized that the other side uses the issue of roads for political auctions that are more like electoral propaganda and they already have no desire to open roads. "We had a meeting with the Military Committee in the presence of the United Nations and other parties, where we discussed the status of violations, the level of commitment of the parties, some security, and operational solutions, the arrangement of the work of the Joint Military Commissions, a Joint Operating Room, etc.," he said.
General al-Razzami also confirmed the implementation of the President of the Supreme Political Council's initiative to open the 50-60 air defense route to demonstrate the goodwill and seriousness of Sana'a in alleviating the suffering of the people of Taiz this is a step that negates what the mercenaries are promoting in the various media.
The Military Committee at Sana'a Airport was received by the Undersecretary of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority, Raied Jabal, the Director of Sana'a International Airport, Khaled Al-Shayef, and military leaders.
