LTRA holds Saudi regime responsible for repercussions of detaining expatriates in al-Wadeah

LTRA holds Saudi regime responsible for repercussions of detaining expatriates in al-Wadeah
[18/April/2021]

SANA'A, Apr. 18 (Saba) - The Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LTRA) held on Sunday the Saudi regime fully responsible for the humanitarian repercussions of the continued detention of thousands of Yemeni expatriates in al-Wadeah outlet for more than twenty days.

In a statement, the authority clarified the suffering of Yemeni expatriates heading to their homeland, as the Saudi authorities have prevented them from passing through the outlet into the Yemeni territories since March 24 for having four-wheel drive cars.

The statement said the Yemenis stranded in al-Wadeah outlet are living in tragic conditions, especially in the blessed month of Ramadan, while the Saudi regime shows carelessness.

The Yemeni expatriates were abused and beaten with batons and electricity sticks by the Saudi riot control forces on April 5th when a number of expatriates held a protest to denounce the Saudi arbitrary measures.

The Authority called on the United Nations, the humanitarian and human rights organizations, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and the International Organization for Migration to put pressure on the Saudi regime to stop the suffering of the Yemenis stranded in the outlet and allow them to return to their homes.
