MAHWEET, Feb. 14 (Saba) - Four people were killed and others injured on Sunday in Saudi air raids on Kawkaban historical city in Shebam district of Mahweet province.

The Saudi aggression targeted the city's main gate, the archeological castle, and buildings and historical monuments located in al-Qashla zone, at the entrance of the city, a local official said.

He added that the air raids led to the destruction of the gate, many homes and archaeological buildings dating back to the 2nd century AD.


Many families are still under the debris, the official said, stressing the rescue teams found difficulties to enter the city due to the massive destruction caused by the air strikes in the city.
