Palestinian medical sources in the Gaza Strip announced today, Thursday, the deaths of four Palestinian citizens due to starvation and malnutrition, recorded by hospitals in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours.
Palestinian medical sources reported that two children were among the dead, bringing the total number of victims of starvation and malnutrition to 197, including 96 children.
It is noteworthy that the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip continues to worsen, due to the blockade and shortages of food and medical supplies. The severe famine is intertwined with the genocidal war waged by the Israeli enemy since October 7, 2023.
Since March 2, 2025, the Israeli enemy authorities have closed all crossings with the Strip, preventing the entry of most food and medical aid, causing a famine outbreak within the Strip.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) warned that malnutrition among children under the age of five doubled between March and June as a result of the ongoing blockade.
The World Health Organization confirmed that malnutrition rates in Gaza have reached alarming levels, and that the deliberate blockade and delays in aid have caused many lives to be lost. Nearly one in five children under the age of five in Gaza City suffer from severe malnutrition.
Since October 7, 2023, the occupying power, Israel, has been committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, including killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.
This genocide has left more than 209,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons and a famine that has claimed the lives of many.
