Gaza - Saba:
Amjad Shawa, head of the Gaza Non-Governmental Organizations Network, confirmed on Thursday that 200,000 children in the Gaza Strip are suffering from severe malnutrition due to the ongoing Israeli blockade and the ban on the entry of all types of food into the Strip.
In press statements on Thursday, Shawa explained that pregnant women in Gaza are living in extremely harsh conditions due to malnutrition.
He pointed out that the lack of baby formula and nutritional supplements is causing the death of many of them.
This morning, a Palestinian child died in the city of Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, as a result of severe starvation and malnutrition, amid the ongoing stifling Israeli blockade and ongoing aggression on the Strip.
In recent days, deaths from malnutrition have increased, with children's bodies turning into skeletons. Cases of fainting have also increased among many Gazans as hunger worsens amid food scarcity. Hunger is worsening in the Gaza Strip, while international organizations are unable to find a mechanism to deliver aid, medicines, and nutritional supplements to starving children as a result of imposed Israeli policies. This threatens the lives of thousands who lack proper nutrition, while warnings of the dangers of deliberate starvation in the Gaza Strip are escalating.
