Moscow - Saba:
The Russian Federal Security Service on Thursday said it had foiled an assassination attempt against a Russian soldier planned by Ukrainian intelligence using poisons planted in his car by two Russian minors who were arrested.
The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), in cooperation with the Investigative Committee in Novosibirsk, thwarted an assassination attempt on a Russian serviceman using toxic chemicals, planned by Ukrainian special services, the RIA Novosti news agency reported.
The statement indicated that two Russian minors were arrested after receiving three containers from Ukrainian intelligence services containing dangerous chemicals that cause acute heart failure and possibly death. They placed them on the driver's door handle and the side mirror of the officer's personal car with the aim of poisoning him.
It also indicated that the two arrested minors received an order to commit a crime from Ukrainian special services via an internet source seeking the so-called quick financial gain. Their activities were subsequently directed from Ukrainian territory via the Telegram app, as confirmed by information contained in the communications devices seized from them.
Previously, the Russian Federal Security Service reported the arrest of agents of the General Intelligence Service and the Ukrainian Military Intelligence Service who planned to commit murders using poisons—the liquidation of some employees of a defense-industrial enterprise in the Yaroslavl region using dangerous chemicals that cause burns. The respiratory system was infected, and was supposed to be placed in the vehicles of these personnel.
There was also an attempt to carry out a mass murder of Russian servicemen by poisoning drinks and confectionery products at the anniversary celebration of the Air Defense Military Pilots in Armavir, and food products collected by volunteers in St. Petersburg to be sent as humanitarian aid to the area of the special military operation.
Russian security forces were able to arrest all those involved in preparing these crimes in a timely manner, and they were charged with involvement in preparing terrorist attacks and high treason.
