Budapest – Saba:

McLaren drivers dominated Friday's first free practice session (FP1) for the Hungarian Grand Prix, Round 13 of the 2025 FIA Formula 1 World Championship, set to take place this Sunday.

- Lando Norris (McLaren) set the fastest lap (1:16.052), edging out teammate Oscar Piastri by 0.019s.
- Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) completed the top three, while Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls) caused a major upset by taking 4th—ahead of Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari).
- Max Verstappen (Red Bull), who recently confirmed his contract extension through 2026, finished 9th, with teammate Yuki Tsunoda down in 17th.

- Piastri, fresh off his Belgian GP win, leads Norris by 16 points. A victory in Hungary could extend his advantage to 23 points before F1's summer break.
- This marks the last race before the month-long summer shutdown.

Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) received medical clearance after missing FP1 due to a back injury. He will return alongside Lance Stroll, driving the AMR25.
