Rabat – Saba:
Thousands of Moroccans staged demonstrations on Friday in solidarity with Gaza, marking the 87th consecutive week of nationwide protests demanding the entry of humanitarian aid and an end to the starvation policies imposed by the Israeli occupation amid an ongoing genocide that has lasted nearly 22 months.
The rallies were organized by the Moroccan Commission to Support the Nation's Causes in several cities, including Casablanca, Inezgane, Oujda, Tangier, and Tetouan.
According to Anadolu Agency, demonstrators raised Palestinian flags and displayed images depicting the dire humanitarian crisis and starvation faced by the people of Gaza.
Chants of solidarity echoed through the streets, including: “Moroccan salutes to proud Gaza” and “From Morocco to Palestine, one people not two,” reaffirming the Moroccan public’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.
Palestinians in Gaza are enduring an unprecedented wave of hunger since the Israeli occupation shut down all border crossings in early March, enforcing severe restrictions on the entry of food, aid, fuel, and medicine.
As time passes, residents have depleted all food resources. Stores have been emptied, and finding a loaf of bread has become nearly impossible. The few remaining goods are being sold at exorbitant prices, making death by hunger one of the most common and brutal causes of death in the besieged strip.
Israeli enemy forces continue to commit daily atrocities against Palestinians waiting for aid in Gaza under the so-called “Israeli-American mechanism,” supervised by the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” since its implementation on May 27.
Earlier Friday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the total number of Palestinians martyred while seeking aid and who reached hospitals has risen to 1,383, with over 9,218 others injured since May 27.
