Gaza – Saba:
Senior Hamas official Abdulhakim Hanini condemned on Friday the arson attack carried out by Israeli settler militias, who torched a vehicle belonging to foreign solidarity activists in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, calling it a continuation of the settlers' criminal and barbaric behavior.
In a press statement, Hanini stressed that the assault was not only directed at the Palestinian people and their cause, but also aimed at sending a hostile message to global supporters of Palestine in an attempt to intimidate them and silence their exposure of the occupier’s crimes.
He added that repeated attacks on Palestinian homes and properties — including in Khirbet Susiya in Hebron, the village of Jalud, Aqaba area in Qabalan, and the plains of Osrin, south of Nablus — reflect an organized campaign to forcibly impose a settler reality at the expense of Palestinian presence.
Hanini stated, “The settlers would not have escalated their aggression without the direct protection of the Zionist occupation forces. These attacks represent the official position of the fascist enemy, not isolated or random incidents.”
He affirmed that the Palestinian people will not retreat from defending their land and dignity, and will confront this systematic escalation with all forms of resistance. “No thief settler shall live in security, and the occupation will never realize its dreams of annexation and displacement, no matter how brutal it becomes,” he said.
Hanini called on human rights organizations, international bodies, and free people around the world to intensify their solidarity with the Palestinian people and support international activists targeted simply for standing on the side of Palestinian rights.
