Occupied Quds - Saba:
Giora Eiland, the former head of the Israeli Defense Forces' Planning Division and architect of the "Generals' Plan," admitted that "there will be no victory in the Gaza Strip under any condition."
Eiland said during a radio interview on Thursday that the Generals' Plan was the best 20 months ago, but it cannot be implemented today, according to the Palestine Online website.
Regarding the Israeli government's seriousness about moving toward an agreement to end the war, he said: "Unfortunately, Netanyahu was able to convince Trump and Witkoff half a year ago that it was possible to move toward only a partial deal. Witkoff's plan is essentially Netanyahu's plan, and it will not work that way."
He added: "Witkoff came to the conclusion too late that a plan that ensures the continuation of the war will not succeed and is contrary to American interests."
Eiland spoke about the essence of the plan of the late Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, in the October 7 attack, saying, "Sinwar was willing to sacrifice everything in order to lay the foundation for the destruction of Israel." He concluded by saying, "If we continue the war and strive for an impossible victory, we will continue to pay a heavy price."
