Gaza – Saba:
Doctors Without Borders (MSF) warned Thursday of an escalating crisis of acute malnutrition among children in Gaza, stating that the organization has never witnessed a humanitarian disaster of this scale before.
Inas Abu Khalaf, MSF's MENA Communications Officer, described the situation as “catastrophic by all measures,” with the number of children under five suffering from severe malnutrition tripling in recent weeks.
MSF teams are receiving around 25 new malnutrition cases daily due to the ongoing blockade, food shortages, and lack of healthcare services.
Abu Khalaf added, “This is unlike anything we’ve seen in 25 years of continuous work in Gaza – not even during previous wars,” noting the absence of electricity, food, and humanitarian aid amid systematic starvation, forced displacement, and relentless "Israeli" raids.
Currently, some 900,000 children in Gaza suffer from hunger, including 70,000 who have already entered a state of malnutrition, as Israeli enemy forces, backed by the U.S. and Europe, continue their genocidal war that has so far claimed over 60,249 lives, mostly women and children.
