Dr. Munir Al-Bursh, Director-General of the Gaza Health Ministry, called on Wednesday for the US Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, to visit Al-Shifa Hospital to witness firsthand the health catastrophe caused by the ongoing aggression.
In a press statement, Al-Bursh stated that over 1,300 Palestinians have been killed in "death traps" due to direct gunfire by Israeli occupation forces while attempting to access humanitarian aid.
He added that the aid distribution process has led to collective massacres against civilians.
"We face death on multiple levels—from acute malnutrition to direct killing by enemy gunfire," Al-Bursh continued.
He emphasized that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is deteriorating daily under the continued siege and repeated attacks on civilians.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation army, backed by the US and Europe, has persisted in its aggression against Gaza, bombing hospitals, buildings, towers, and Palestinian civilian homes—destroying them over the heads of their residents—while blocking the entry of water, food, medicine, and fuel.
