Seoul – Saba:
South Korean activists staged a protest on Wednesday in front of the government headquarters in Seoul, condemning the ongoing massacres committed by the Israeli occupation forces against civilians in the Gaza Strip and the continuation of the starvation war that targets the besieged enclave’s children.
According to Quds News Network, the protest featured powerful symbolic scenes. Some participants dressed in black in mourning for the lives of Palestinian martyrs, while others brought empty strollers to represent the massive loss suffered by Gaza’s children under siege and deliberate starvation policies.
The protesters chanted slogans condemning the ongoing Israeli aggression against Palestinians and demanded urgent action to stop the massacres and the blockade. They also expressed outrage over the international silence regarding the genocide taking place in Gaza.
This demonstration is part of a series of ongoing protest activities held in Seoul since the beginning of the aggression on Gaza. South Korean activists have regularly organized rallies every Saturday, as well as on other days, in solidarity with human rights causes — foremost among them, the Palestinian cause.
Backed by U.S. and European support, the Israeli occupation army has, since October 7, 2023, continued to commit acts of genocide in Gaza, resulting in the killing of 60,138 Palestinian civilians — the majority of them women and children — and injuring 146,269 others. Thousands more remain trapped under rubble or in the streets, unreachable by ambulance and rescue teams.
