Amran – Saba:
A broad meeting of scholars, preachers, and religious guides was held on Tuesday in Amran Governorate under the slogan: "No Excuse Before God for Failing to Support Gaza and Confront Zionist-American Schemes."
During the meeting, the Governor of Amran, Dr. Faisal Jaman, stressed the heavy responsibility placed on scholars and preachers in the current phase to strengthen public awareness and societal resilience. He highlighted the vital educational and guidance role played by religious scholars in alerting the public to the conspiracies targeting the faith, identity, and unity of the Muslim Ummah, emphasizing the religious, moral, and humanitarian duty to defend the central causes of the Ummah.
Jaman also pointed to the importance of mobilization and awareness regarding active participation in open military training programs and in popular movements, protests, and mass rallies supporting the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The meeting was attended by Secretary-General of the local authority, Saleh Al-Makhlous, Deputy Governors Abdulaziz Abu Kharfasha, Amin Farras, and Hassan Al-Ashqas, and Mobilization Officer Sajad Hamzah.
Speakers from the Association of Yemeni Scholars—Sheikhs Saleh Al-Khoulani, Abdulwahid Al-Ashqas, and Qassem Al-Sarraji—emphasized the need for unity and solidarity among Muslims in support of the resistance in Gaza in confronting the enemies of the Ummah.
They warned of the grave consequences of neglecting or failing to call for jihad in support of the Palestinian people, calling on all scholars to fulfill their duty in urging for resistance against the American and Israeli enemies committing genocide in Gaza amid shameful Arab and Islamic silence.
Representatives of the Salafi movement and Dawah in the governorate, Muhammad Al-Raimi and Fahd Al-Sa’ar, spoke about the dangers of abandoning the oppressed Palestinian people, warning of dire consequences in this world and the hereafter. They affirmed that no one in the Ummah has an excuse not to act in lifting the injustice and standing in solidarity with Gaza.
Al-Raimi and Al-Sa’ar held the Ummah’s inaction accountable for the suffering in Gaza and denounced the ongoing massacres, genocide, and starvation war perpetrated by the Zionist entity, including the use of U.S.-run aid distribution centers as death traps for starving Palestinians.
A statement issued at the end of the meeting, read by Yemen Scholars Association member and Mufti of Amran, Sheikh Mohammed Al-Makhadhi, emphasized the importance of this gathering, which brought together a group of scholars and preachers from Amran to clarify the religious position required of Muslims toward the Palestinian people.
The statement called for a firm stance to confront the Zionist-American enemy and put an end to the genocide in Gaza. It stressed the duty of Muslim unity in support of Gaza, Palestine, and Al-Aqsa Mosque, noting that holding fast to the rope of Allah is an individual obligation on every Muslim—especially in this critical historical moment, citing the Quranic verse: "And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided."
The statement condemned the continued massacres, starvation policies, and genocide in Gaza, and the use of aid centers as traps for starving civilians.
It held the surrounding Arab states and their people primarily responsible before God for the siege and starvation endured by Gaza, and asserted that normalization with the Zionist entity at this stage is a severe sin that must be eradicated by severing all forms of ties—political, economic, and cultural—and transforming them into firm enmity.
The statement also declared the presence of American military bases in the region as religiously forbidden, describing them as a threat and launchpad for aggression and a breach of Arab and Islamic national security. It called for their removal as a religious duty.
It urged all scholars of the Islamic Ummah to take up their responsibility in informing Muslims—leaders, people, and armies—of the duty to condemn the Zionist-American aggression on Gaza.
The statement expressed deep regret and condemnation of the shameful and regressive stance of Al-Azhar scholars, renewing the call to so-called scholars of misguidance and sectarianism to fear God and stop inciting sectarian strife, which serves U.S. and Israeli agendas.
It warned against disgraceful fatwas and misleading statements that align with the enemy and divide Muslims, affirming that there is no salvation, dignity, freedom, or independence for the Ummah except through jihad for the sake of Allah against "America and Israel."
The statement praised the honorable and faithful stance of the Yemeni people and their wise leadership, represented by the revolutionary leader Sayyid Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi and the brave armed forces standing by Gaza and in solidarity with all oppressed peoples.
It also welcomed the recent statement by the armed forces announcing escalatory options and expanded targeting of all entities linked to the criminal Zionist regime as part of the fourth phase of support for Gaza.
The statement praised the courageous religious positions taken by some scholars, such as the Grand Mufti of Oman and the Grand Mufti of Libya, describing them as brave and significant in a time of silence and betrayal.
It also commended cultural, political, media, and grassroots elites, as well as the positive role of free activists on social media for their efforts in exposing truths, refuting lies, countering psychological warfare, and exposing collaborators and traitors.
Finally, the statement urged scholars and preachers to promote the boycott of American and Israeli goods and media outlets, as an effective weapon to confront the enemy and its schemes.
