Mahwit – Saba:
A meeting in Al-Mahwit province, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration and Rural Development, Mohammed Al-Madani, discussed on Tuesday the progress of developmental and agricultural work, as well as the role of agricultural associations and community initiatives in promoting sustainable development in the governorate.
The meeting was attended by Governor Hanin Qutina, First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Local Administration and Rural Development Jamal Alawi, Public Mobilization Officer Ismail Sharafuddin, Governorate Security Director Brigadier General Abdullah Al-Tawous, directors of districts, representatives of agricultural associations, and several executive office directors and mobilization officials from the districts. Detailed reports on developmental plans and community initiatives were reviewed.
The meeting addressed efforts to advance the agricultural sector as a pillar of the local economy, along with projects aimed at empowering local communities, achieving agricultural revolution goals, and enhancing national production.
Al-Madani emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts , strengthening coordination between government and community entities to achieve sustainable development. He noted that the government places great importance on supporting agriculture through realistic programs and plans, providing necessary support to relevant bodies for comprehensive economic progress.
He also directed the need to follow up on the implementation of community initiatives, prioritizing food security projects and the development of sustainable agricultural technologies, while praising the role of district directors and their cooperation with agricultural associations and development sectors. He reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing all challenges hindering development in targeted districts.
For her part, Governor Hanin Qutina affirmed that Al-Mahwit Governorate is steadily progressing toward real and sustainable development by activating partnerships between official , community entities , diligently implementing service and agricultural projects that meet citizens' needs.
She highlighted the local authority’s strong focus on the agricultural sector as a fundamental pillar of the local economy, stressing efforts to overcome obstacles facing agricultural associations and community initiatives to enhance national production and achieve the goals of the agricultural revolution.
In turn, Public Mobilization Officer Ismail Sharafuddin commended the role and initiatives of the governorate’s residents in implementing developmental and service projects, emphasizing the importance of supporting their continued efforts to achieve the agricultural revolution and national economic advancement.
