Oslo - Saba:
The shipping company "Cosmo Ship," owner of the vessel Eternity C, expressed its "profound relief" on Tuesday after seeing its crew members alive in a video released by Yemeni military media on Monday.
The maritime news site TradeWinds reported on Tuesday that the company—whose ship was sunk by Yemeni armed forces in the Red Sea on July 9—was "happy to see the crew of its owned vessel safe and in good condition."
The specialized maritime outlet stated that "the survivors appeared in stable conditions."
One of the sailors mentioned that "the Yemenis rescued them," and that they were "receiving necessary care." Other crew members revealed that the ship’s captain had informed them their destination was the port of Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat) from Berbera port in Somalia, while the Saudi port of Jeddah was used as a diversion for resupply purposes.
According to Yemeni military media, naval forces successfully rescued 11 crew members at sea, including two injured individuals who received medical treatment. Meanwhile, a body found on board before the ship sank was transferred to a hospital morgue.
Recorded statements from the crew confirmed that the vessel had violated the maritime navigation ban to ports in occupied Palestine and ignored Yemeni warnings.
