Izzat al-Rishq, a member of Hamas' political bureau, strongly condemned U.S. President Donald Trump's denial of the famine in Gaza on Sunday, despite testimonies from the United Nations and international organizations, as well as the deaths of dozens of children from starvation due to the blockade and siege imposed by the enemy.
The blockade has prevented the entry of food and medicine through designated humanitarian channels.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), al-Rishq said that such remarks blatantly echo the narrative of war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court, and his lies. He added that these statements provide the enemy's government with additional cover to continue its crimes of genocide and starvation against the Palestinian people.
Regarding U.S. accusations of so-called "theft" of aid, al-Rishq dismissed them as baseless claims unsupported by any evidence. He pointed out that a recent internal investigation by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) refuted these allegations, revealing that the U.S. State Department had accused Hamas without providing any visual evidence. The investigation, as reported by Reuters, confirmed that there were no reports or data indicating systematic theft of aid by Hamas.
Al-Rishq emphasized that the Zionist enemy is the one fueling chaos and looting by deliberately targeting police officers tasked with protecting aid trucks, leaving them vulnerable to theft by gangs operating under its direct cover.
He called on the U.S. administration to stop parroting the enemy’s propaganda and exposed lies, urging it to uphold humanitarian values and principles and to take moral , humanitarian responsibility for the blockade, starvation, and systematic killing in Gaza.
